Silverfish Control

Agile, fast-running, wingless insects covered in scales and with a fish-like appearance (hence the name) are found in dark areas that are generally undisturbed, such as roof cavities, wall voids, filing cabinets and bookcases. It is in these places that they tend to do the most damage, as not only do they feed on human food, but they thrive feeding on materials such as photographs, books, linen, cotton, hair strands, dirt and more. 

Like cockroaches, silverfish can survive a long time without food and are quite difficult to remove once their colony is established. Whilst they destroy anything they feed on, damage is minimal and prevention of Silverfish appearing is the best and most effective option. Where possible checking for signs of silverfish amongst second-hand books and furniture and frequent cleaning of pantries and kitchens will help to prevent silverfish from appearing in your environment. It is also recommended to store important documents and items in a light, airy space.
